I’ve always had in the back of my mind, how would you go about grilling corn on the cob. Well, it doesn’t take much effort at all.
Corn is fantastic, especially when it is cooked just right and juicy and full of flavour!
I don’t really eat too much corn, but now that I’ve got this technique down I can see having it more frequently.
How to Grill Corn on the Cob
I’ll share the couple of steps it took me to end up with delicious juicy grilled corn on the cob covered in herb butter
Prepare the Corn
Whether you get your corn from the supermarket or the local farmers market, hopefully it comes still in the husk. To prepare the corn you need to remove most of the outer layers of husk and all the silky strands in between.
Corn is pretty good by itself, but everyone knows a little butter goes a long way on corn. Even better, slather on some freshly made herb butter with parsley and chives straight from the garden. Mix the herbs up with soft butter, pull back the top layer of husk and spread evenly amongst the cobs.
Grilling the Corn
Prepare the grill for medium indirect heat, 180ºC / 350ºC.
Once the grill is at temperature, place the corn cobs on the indirect side of the grill and replace the lid.
Now get this. Place the lid with the vents over the corn and come back in 15 minutes.
In this time the butter has melted leaving the corn covered in the herbs and full of flavour and ready to eat.
Remove from the grill, remove the remaining husk and serve immediately.
There, easy as.
